A Momentous Excursion (Braxton)

Keira was walking around Hogsmeade getting a few odds and ends before her new school year came up. She had put herself in study for the last few days. Her brown hair was high up in a ponytail along with her usual trinkets. Her gold elephant necklace and bangle, she was wearing a light redish pink top with some jeans since the year hadn't technically started she was still in casual wear. Keira knew that a familiar face would be around the corner as she passed The Three Broomsticks. Braxton Vanderbilt.

The rich Ravenclaw that she went to school with, she had a thing for him but it seemed every time he had asked her to become an item she always came up with some excuse. That she wasn't ready for a relationship. That it was the wrong time for them to get together, that she was so tied up with her new line of work to be stressing about them being together. She had become very indecisive since her younger brother Maximus started his own job as an Auror. Keira was always so protective over him and now here he was putting his life in risk every day locking away criminals abusing their magic for personal gain.

It was a note worthy reason for him to take the job because it stood for what the Esperson's were all about but Keira was worried to say the least. Keira had a copy of the advance History of Magic book in her hands as she opened up the door to the Three Broomsticks. She sat at the bar and waited until she saw the face she was searching for. "Braxton.. Long time no see." Keira said as she sat her book down and pushed a piece of her bangs back slowly looking into his eyes with a smile.

She didn't even bother telling him what kind of drink she wanted because she rarely if ever drank. It was something she didn't quite enjoy, losing your senses and rational thoughts. Keira would every now and then or for a special occasion but she wouldn't get completely drunk. Keira had her limits and she never crossed them, she grinned as she was handed a pumpkin juice. The bright orange colored beverage had been her favorite since she arrived at Hogwarts as a kid. Of course this was because she enjoyed anything pumpkin flavored.

The bag draped across her shoulder down at her hip stirred as Midnight her miniature dragon wiggled out of it and scurried to her shoulder wrapping its tail around her neck. "Oh you haven't gotten the chance to meet Midnight have you?" The bright pink dragon nuzzled her neck as it looked up at Braxton. "I was able to hatch him from egg when I went to Romania last year over summer."

Braxton had been busy today with all the hustle and bustle that had been going on since the end of summer was coming to head.  School was getting ready to start so that meant the professors were in and out of town getting their items ready for the school year.  This also meant that he was going to finally get a chance to see his Keira.  Even though neither of them could ever agree to become a item, he still considered her his and always tried to deter anyone from showing interest.  

If the two of them would quit finding reasons not to be together they both would probably be happy by now with children.  But if it wasn't her making excuses it was him, his not the one for him, he is too busy fighting with his parents.

Braxton had his back to the bar mixing up a drink when she arrived, until he heard her speak.  He smiled as he looked up into the mirror that was in front of him as he saw her sitting there.  "Well last time I checked that was not my fault."  Braxton said as he got into the fridge under the counter and grabbed the pumpkin juice and poured her a glass handing it too her, "But I must say I have missed you."

Braxton was a little hurt because he had not seen her in awhile, but he would get over it like he always got over everything that happened between them.  He loved her more than life itself and that was why.  He could not help but laugh a little as he watched the little dragon snuggle up with her, "I must admit she is rather cute, not sure how Riki will take to her?"  Braxton laughed just in time to see Riki jump on her perch near the corner of the bar.

Keira hadn't been trying to avoid Braxton it was just because she had always done summer trips with Maximus when he happened to have the spare time. Since he became an Auror he was always busy and it was starting to make her feel like she wasn't as important as she used to be during their childhood. Keira was always a part of her younger brother's life but now she felt like she wasn't.

Keira was always thinking about Braxton, it was like she forced herself in her studies to give herself a distraction. It was like the only thing she had on her mind was rebellions, wars, and all the influential wizards and witches. But when it wasn't all the historical knowledge it was always Braxton. She didn't know why she always started giving excuses to why her and Braxton couldn't be together. It was just because they were pretty much already a couple. That she didn't want anything to change because they already had the best kind of relationship.

Keira over thought the entire situation that was what she was best for. Over thinking. She observed him mixing a drink and couldn't help but melt when he looked up and smiled at her through the mirror. "I know I am at fault. You know how my summers go nowadays. Exotic travels to fill my head with more mumbo jumbo than it really should have. Plus I got to see Maximus. You know how rare that is nowadays." It was like she blinked and he already had her an icy cold bottle of pumpkin juice.

Once the glass was handed to her she sipped it and nodded contently. "I really missed you as well Braxton. Things haven't been the same without you. Like something was missing." Keira knew that he must have been upset or had his feelings hurt because of the situation but like she had earlier said she never got to see her brother anymore. Keira smiled as she nuzzled Midnight and heard a purr of happiness. "Oh I am sure she will take to Riki. She is quite a loving dragon. Would you expect anything else from my pet?"

Keira noticed the snowy white cat jump up on her perch."Well hello Riki why don't you come say hi to Midnight she won't bite." Keira leaned over and took Braxton's hand into her own. "I brought you something from Romania." She said with a grin as she reached into her bag at her side. Keira pulled out a gold chain bracelet sketched with Romanian ruins, it was also coated with dragon scales. Light purple shimmering scales and it was used for protection but if he didn't know the ruins transcribed to an infinite symbol of love.

"Here allow me hun." She latched it on and smiled as she saw it was a perfect fit. "It suites you. I love it." She looked up at him with her brown soothing eyes and got lost in his eyes like she always did. "I wish you could have seen it Braxty. It was so beautiful there. Dragons freely flying, it gave off the sense of freedom there. Peace."

While Braxton was talking to Keira he still had to take care of the people at the bar. His normal bartender needed the day off and his couple of waitresses cannot run bar and take care of the tables.  Of course in emergencies he can use magic, but then being muggleborn he doesn’t always want to revert to magic.
 
Handing a couple of drinks to the people sitting on Keira’s left he smiled a little at her as she talked about her travels,   “Yep, you are always the busy little bee.”  Braxton said as he picked up a cloth and wiped off the bar where some liquid was spilt.  “So now that you’re teaching are you planning on settling down and finding Mr. Right?”  Braxton asked her with a curious look in his eyes.
 
“Brax, can I get a whiskey.”  Braxton heard from down the bar so he turned around to grab a glass and then back to Keira because that was where the bottle was and pour the glass.  “There is always a piece of me missing when you are away.”  Braxton said as he carried the whiskey down to Brian.  “There you go Bri.”
 
Braxton could not help but laugh as he watched Riki walk over to Keira and smell Midnight.  The next thing he knew was the two animals were practically curled up on the bar.  “Well now we will never get them apart.”  Braxton said thinking it was rather weird that Riki took to the dragon awful easily.  Braxton was brought out of his thoughts when Keira grabbed his arm and placed the bracelet on it that she said she got him in Romania.  He pulled it up to look at it and he had to admit he loved it, “Come on you know I almost failed Ancient Runes, what does it say?”
 
Braxton saw someone flagging him down out of the corner of his eyes and he went to grab the bottle he needed, “I would have gone if you would have asked me.”  Braxton said as he went to fill the guys’ glass.  Braxton would have gladly gone with her anywhere she wanted to go.  Even if he had just sat in the hotel room while she spent time with her brother.
 

Braxton came back to where she was sitting and placed the bottle back down, then Wendy came up to the bar and smiled and noticed Keira sitting there, “Well look what the cat drug in.”  Wendy said with a laugh, “I am so glad you are home, because if he would have told me anymore how much he missed you I might have had to hex him.”  Wendy then smirked at Braxton and told him the drinks she needed and waited for him to get them and then she went and delivered them.

Keira smiled as she saw some bar folk come up and he instantly poured them drinks while never taking his eyes off of her. It was like whenever she was in the room his eyes stuck on her and nothing else. It was like what she thought of him, she never wanted to look away from him. His eyes, his golden strands of polished hair, the way it would get when it fell in his face. He was so intoxicating to her.

Like a drug or addiction, something she never wanted to give up. "Of course, busy little bee I am. But if I want to be the best professor I can be I have to actually go and learn about the different cultures of magic and stuff like that. How they run things there, what is different from us and what not." She said with a cheerful ring to her tone.

Keira watched as he wiped up all the little spills he had acquired from serving drinks out and what he said next made her almost choke on her pumpkin juice. "Mr. Right?" She said matching his curious look but actually verbalizing it. "Well I thought I already found him, just have to work out my big head and all the details."

Keira said with a cute overbearing smile as she looked up in his eyes directly. Proper eye contact is best in these kinds of situations and she never wanted to look away, it was as if she wanted him to know how sincere she was. That she was really trying to work through her problems that seemed to keep popping up when ever they got to the point of getting in a relationship.

Keira melted when he claimed that whenever she was away that there was a piece of himself missing as if she completed him. He handed out another drink and before she knew it Riki had came over and sniffed Midnight which her pink dragon couldn't help but jump down on the bar and snuggle right up to the fluffy white cat. "See I told you she was like me, total lover girl right there."

She giggled out before he said that they would never be able to pull apart their pets from one another. "Yes I see that becoming a problem as well." Keira smiled brightly when Braxton looked down and seem to adore his present but she couldn't help but snort cutely when he asked her what the runes meant. "Oh come on Braxton Vanderbilt. I did your Ancient Runes homework back in the day and you still haven't got the hang of it? Shame mister shame." She joked as she teased him.

She stroked her fingertip along the carved etched out runic symbols and smiled gently. "Eternal love, compassion, strength, hope, wonder, loyalty, magic." She said as her finger moved from symbol to symbol "Everything that makes us. Us. I hand carved it and put in my protection charms. They will be active until I breathe my last breath."

Keira snapped out of it when a patron needed another bottle and Braxty said that he would have gone with them if he was asked. "I know you would have but I don't know I just thought that you would have said no." She said rather dumbfounded as she wondered why she even thought that to begin with.

When he returned to her side she couldn't help but hear a familiar voice. "Hello Wendy." Wendy was his barmaid and she had seemed to taken a good friendship with her, if she hadn't she probably would have been jealous. She had long flowing black hair, with piercing blue eyes and a smile that could charm the pants off of any man. "Really now? Missed me that much huh Braxty?" She said with a grin as she looked back at Wendy "Well don't worry I am sure my brother Maximus heard just as much ranting and raving from me when we were away on our travels."

When Wendy finally left she couldn't help but laugh at the sight of Midnight glued to Riki and Riki was pawing at Braxton's new gift. Riki seemed jealous that she didn't have a new sparkly gift as Keira always brought her one too. "Oh don't you worry Riki I brought you something as well." She pulled out a purple dragon scaled collar with a glistening silver piece with Riki etched out in runes as well. "I figured since you last one wore out or went missing that you were in due for another although I believe this one won't be as easy to break. It also serves as a protection charm." Riki started looking down to sniff the coin but Midnight took it as a friendly gesture and licked Riki's nose. "Yeah I think it's inevitable they are stuck to one another. Just like us."

Since Braxton could remember Keira had always been his world, even if he could not tell the world that she belonged to him.  He loved her chocolate brown eyes that he could easily get lost in, which was why he could not keep his eyes off of her.  Even though he was working he knew where she was and who was around her.  “The school could not find a better qualified professor.  You were my favorite teacher in school, not the mention the prettiest.”  Braxton said with a smile.
 
Braxton walked over to Keira when he heard her sound like she choked on her drink, but by the time he reached her she seemed to be doing ok.  “Wow, found Mr. Right did you.”  Braxton said with a smirk as he grabbed himself a glass of whiskey and went over and sat down next to her.  Everyone at the bar was taken care of and Chris had finally showed up and could take over for awhile “Do tell me about Mr. Right, what do you like about him?”  Braxton asked as he sipped the whiskey.  “How can I help you work out the details?”
 
Braxton was glad that their familiars were getting along so well with each other because one way or another Keira was going to make their relationship official and their pets would have to get along with each other.  “Well at least my cat is getting some love right now.”  Braxton said with a wink.
 
Braxton got up off his seat when he noticed it was getting a little busy and helped Chris out a little real fast.  “Psh, Keira.  Runes will never be my thing.  Just whiskey and the woman I love.”  Braxton said with a little laugh as he poured out about seven shots of whiskey.  When he had gotten back over to Keira she grabbed him so she could explain the runes on it.  Braxton knew that he was going to have to check on the gift he had for her.  It seemed they were both having the same thoughts.  “Well I feel 100% better now.  Much safer now that I know you have my back.”
 
Braxton could not help but roll his eyes at Wendy and laughed a little, “Oh please I was not that bad.  She just wished.”  He said as he went to sit back down next to her.  “Please who else is there to keep me out of trouble?”  Braxton drank down his glass.  “Have I ever been able to tell you no?  Well except with the one topic.”
 

Braxton smiled when Keira give Riki a present too, she always did get jealous sometime when it came to the attention and when Keira looked at Braxton and said that they would always be stuck together he leaned over and whispered in her ear, “Permanently?  As in I do?”  Braxton said as he turned to go to the restroom leaving her to be in shock over what he said.

Keira loved Braxton, always had and always would. He was her prince charming and it killed her knowing that she stopped herself from being with him. Every single time that he offered to be with her she always came up with an excuse on why they couldn't be a couple. "You always seem to get lost in my eyes, like you dived in a streaming river of chocolate."

Keira giggled when Braxton continued on to say that Hogwarts was privileged to have such a smart qualified professor. "Oh please Braxton I wasn't a professor while we were at school even if it seemed like I answered all the questions and what not." Keira wiped a drip of pumpkin juice from her lips and smirked when Braxton seemed to rush to her side to see if she was okay. "Yes I believe I have he is quite charming. This Mister Right of mine."

Keira pushed a piece of her bangs to the side behind her ear and began to explain what she loved about the man sitting next to her. "I love how no matter how long we have known each other that we are best friends. We know one another like the back of our hands. That is how strong our connection is." Keira was interrupted when she was asked if he could help with the details. "Nope you just need to sit there and look pretty lovely. I feel inspiration pour out of you just with you being next to me."

Keira was always weird with expressing her feelings, she always came off as the strong proud older sister figure. Keira laughed cutely when she looked at Riki and Midnight show one another affection. It was as if they shared the same kinship as their owners did. "Oh do I hear a sense of jealousy Mister Vanderbilt?" Keira leaned in and gave him a quick passionate kiss and couldn't help but wince cutely as she tasted the bitter taste of his fire whiskey.

It was something she was never going to get used too but she knew that she would eventually have to. "Yes but then again if you have me by your side I can translate all the runes for you." She chirped out as he claimed all he needed was his whiskey and the woman he loved, it being her. She watched him as he got up and swiftly poured seven shots for the generous patrons of the bar and could tell that he was thinking of something as she explained. "Well silly I will always have your back. That isn't something new found. Been discovered and claimed for for ages now."

Keira said as she linked fingers with him as she realized that she still had a hold of his hand. Keira was always laughing when Wendy was around, she teased Braxton so much about her. About when she was away from him and all of that. "Uh-huh Braxty don't lie. I can tell just from the way your body language comes off."

Keira hinted at with an arched eyebrow. "Yes I am aware, my big mind just got in the way as it always does." Keira loved it when Riki showed appreciation to her gifts, she was such a sweet cat it was only the truth when Riki was Braxton's cat. Keira froze when he whispered in her ear as if she meant a proposal as he left for the bathroom.

She stood frozen as a block of ice until he came back next to her. "Are?! Are you serious? Who says something like that and go take a piss. What were you actually asking me Mister Vanderbilt." Keira's head was spinning around and just to diffuse the situation "And my pumpkin juice is empty." She said pointing at it with a giggle.

Braxton could not help but smirk a little at her comment about her eyes because he could not help it.  He loved the look of her eyes and he would get lost in them every time he did.  “Well they are rather lovely, and any one would be pleased to look into them on a regular basis.”
 
Braxton could not help but roll his eyes at Keira’s comment, “I was meant to me you silly woman.”  Braxton said with a laugh, “You know as well as I do, I would have never understand all that magical stuff if it was not for you.”  Braxton could not help but blush a little at her remarks, “Wow, are you thinking about telling this mister right that it is time to stop fighting the way you feel about each other and admit that you love each other and belong together.”
 
Braxton listened to Keira talk about her feelings for him and he had to admit there were some many things about her that he loved. “You mean like there is a spot right here on your hip bone that makes you laugh when it is touched.  Or  that when the light hits your hair there is actually a hint of red in it.”  Braxton said with a smile, “One of my favorite ones is your willingness to help every stray creature you can find.”  Braxton smiled.
 
“I am not jealous of a cat.”  Braxton said with a smile and was taken back when she kissed him so much he kissed her back placing his hands on her back grasping her hair.  “You will always be by my side if you quit running and stay in one place for a change.  I will never leave you until you tell me to go, so I guess you will always be stuck with me.”  He said then kissed her gently.
 

When he came back from the bathroom he knew he was going to be in trouble but he just smirked a little when she got on him about what he said, “I can’t help it I had to piss it is important for the bladder.”  He said with a laugh.  “I was not asking you anything, why would I you always tell me no.”  Braxton went and got the juice and poured her juice and then looked at her.  “But I will wait forever for you so it doesn’t matter.”

Keira grinned and looked away for a spare moment because of the fact that Braxton would probably throw a hiss fit because he couldn't look into her eyes. Being as that was the conversation at hand, her brown eyes. "Yeah you think so?" She looked back at him and blinked a couple times. Letting her long eyelashes flicker and bat over the chocolate pupils. "Any one or you would?" She asked him with a teasing tone.

Keira laughed again when he clarified his comment and said that she was a professor to him. Because she spent so much time and dedication helping him with his studies that she pretty much let her teaching side develop early. If it wasn't for that she may have not ever discovered that she liked the idea of being a professor.

Her and Maximus had actually both planned young to be a part of the ministry of magic. It wasn't until she learned just how much she loved knowledge and the will to teach others. "Yes I know and if it wasn't for you my dear I may be some slave worker at the Ministry, whether it would be taking people's memories or fighting off dark wizards. I know I have never been good with the physical side of magic. I mean don't get me wrong I am pretty good. But not that great."

Keira laughed nervously as he mentioned telling the mister right about how she felt and to stop fighting it and go with it. That the person she belonged with would be good enough. It seemed Braxton had some qualities that he seemed to enjoy about her as well. Her ticklish hip, which she laughed so calmly as he touched it. "Oh Braxton please not here! Wouldn't want to scare away your paying customers."

She pushed her hair backwards when he claimed if the light hit it would have a red tint. Keira took his hand again and wrapped her fingers around his as he spoke his favorite quality about her. That she is willing to help any creature that needs and asks for it. "Well the way I look at it everyone is a little lost and if all they need is a helping hand to put them back on the right path then wouldn't it be right to give that hand?"

Keira said as soft as a gentle midsummer wind, softly caressing your skin as it flows through the sky. "Oh well don't act sour if you're not jealous at least act the part. But for your strenuous efforts." She leaned in and kissed him with a grin and Keira couldn't help but melt as he placed his hands at the nape of her neck.

Grasping her hair with the tips of his fingers. "I know I get quite bad at running around. I feel like my head always wants to be filled with knowledge and is really just running from what it really wants. Commitment. After all I mean how much more knowledge can it learn before my head explodes."

She was kissed once more and couldn't help but think how much she missed and longed for his kisses. Keira was halfway tempted to follow him to the bathroom but it was as if her legs were jello. "Your bladder? What about my heart? I mean seriously leaving with that kind of an exit. Give me a heart attack!" She whined as she playfully swatted at his arm.

She was speechless when he told her that she always said no so why would he ask that question. Keira sighed and pushed her bangs back "I may have said yes but looks like we'll never know since you didn't ask." Keira took up her new pumpkin juice and took another drink.

Braxton walked over to Chris and whispered in his ear that he would be back in a little bit because he wanted or needed to talk to Keira about everything that they had been talking about.  Well to normal people they were talking, but between them it was the way they flirted.  Of course Braxton could take on everything they had talked about, but he wanted to talk about everything all at once so he had just sat there and listened to her.
 
Braxton walked over and took Keira by the hand and decided they would take a walk outside.  There were lots of trails behind the town and he wanted to be alone with her for awhile.  “Keira we have known each other for a long time, so of course when you asked me who would love to look into your eyes all the time.”  Braxton said and then pulled her hand up to kiss it, “Of course it is me and the thought of anyone else being with you drives me crazy.”
 
Braxton continued to walk her down the trail to where he knew there was a bench sitting by a little pond.  He never remembered this when he was back in school but he loved the spot and found it perfect for thinking.    Braxton led Keira towards the bench and offered her to sit down before he sat down.  When he sat down he placed his arm around Keira as she settled into the crook of his arm he started to play with her hair.  “You know I must admit to you that I do get jealous and I can’t stop it.”  Braxton admitted.  “Every time you go away I am always afraid that you are going to find someone that is better than me.” 
 
Braxton knew that they had been floating around each other for years and Braxton was wondering how much longer they could do that.  Braxton loved Keira with all his heart, but how long was he going to be able to hold onto his dreams with her.  “Keira, we both know that I love you and you love me.”  Braxton said with a sigh, “But how much longer is our love going to be enough.  We aren’t getting any younger and I want a family and a home of my own to share with the woman I love.”
 

Braxton was very nervous as he reached into his pocket fiddling with the ring that he has always carried in his pocket always wishful thinking when it came to Keira.  Braxton moved to kneel in front of Keira and pulled out the ring  from his pocket.  “Keira, I really was not planning on playing my card so soon, but I do not know how much longer I can go without you being completely mine.  I have loved you for as long as I can remember, I love your smile, eyes, and spirit.  I cannot take my life without you by my side anymore.”  Braxton said finally taking a moment to take a breath.  “I want you to be the first person I see when I wake up to in the morning and the last person I see before I go to sleep.”  

Braxton looked up into her beautiful chocolate eyes and smiled,   “Please Keira Neve Espenson will you do me the honor of stop running from me and finally become my wife.”  Braxton finally asked after all the years of her telling him no he was very scared that she was going to say no again and he was not sure if he could handle it again.

Keira tilted her head innocently when she saw Braxton whisper something to Chris and before she knew it Braxton had this certain look on his face. A look she knew all too well and her intuition was telling her that he was wanting to have the discussion of them being an item. To stop all of the excuse making and just to admit that they were meant to be together. Keira nodded when Braxty came over and took her by her hand and directed her outside. They did this quite often when they were in school, going out for walks.

They would go shoulder to shoulder to Hogsmeade on the time Braxton was able to pull her away from her books and studies and go for a hot cocoa or in his case a butterbeer. Keira looked down at the ground, directly at her feet and kicked a loose stone before Braxton started going on about them. "Of course we have known each other for a long time. There isn't anyone else besides Maximus that I would want to acquaint myself with for such a long time. But he's my brother, you. You are different. There is feelings there."

She went to say before she felt him kiss her hand and went on about her eyes and that thinking her with someone else beside him drove him nuts. "You know that would never happen. I have been alone because of who I am. I am a complex book, not one that can just be picked up off the shelf and understood. I have a lot of fine print and dust between the pages." She looked up and noticed a pond with a sitting bench and Keira couldn't help but awe at its beauty. When he offered for her to sit she did such and patted the spot next to her with her famous cute smile.

The smile that had truly won over his heart and as he sat she nuzzled into his open arm almost instantly. "I know this but as I have said Braxton there is no one like you. No one could come close to winning me over, hell if anyone were to know that it'd be you." She spoke as soft as cherry blossoms falling from the tree to the plush grass. Keira sighed as he continued playing with her hair, his fingers twirling and soothing into her locks.

As if he had learned his own form of magic. "When I go Braxty it is to spend time with my brother and fill my head with more rubbish knowledge. I am true of my word. I could never betray you like that. It has been long stated that if anyone were to end up with me that it'd be you. Because no one is better than you Braxton Vanderbilt. How many times have I had to pound that into your head?" Keira said with a cute little giggle as he continued speaking. Her heart started racing as she knew that this was a very serious conversation.

Maximus had told her that she needed to stop dragging him along for the ride. He of course had seen them all through the years and knew that they deeply loved each other. In fact her brother told her that if she chose anyone beside Braxton that he would have to kill her. "Of course I do, and I know you love me too. Its evident." Keira placed her hands folded on top of one another on her knee and started shifting around when he said that he was starting to wonder if their love would be enough. That the years were passing and that he wanted so much out of life. A family, a home. To share it with the woman he loved, not just a here and there visit as she provided him.

Keira's throat was drying up and she felt a lump rising making it quite difficult to swallow. Once he knelled in front of her holding out a ring he was carrying in his pocket her jaw dropped. The pink ring sparkled in the faint moonlight and was the most perfect shade of pink. She listened to his words as that was the only thing she could do in her frozen state. He told her that he didn't know how long he could go without making her completely his. That he loved her eyes, her cute little smile, and overall her soul and spirit. She had dragged him along so much that he couldn't possibly take life without her by his side any longer. He claimed he wanted her to be the person to wake and fall asleep too. That was what he truly wanted in life.

Keira looked into his eyes and blinked several times mutely as he asked the important question. To stop running and finally be his wife. To marry him and be the wife to raise the family with. To build a loving home and environment for such family. Keira started shedding tears and shook her head. "Braxton, I'm so sorry. I always told you no because of the pity reasons. That our parents clashed. That I wasn't ready. That it wasn't the right time. It was honestly because I was scared."

She closed her eyes as her eyes continued misting up as she continued pouring her heart out to the man she loved. "You are the best thing that has ever happened to me and I was scared just what if what if I said yes and I lost what we have. I couldn't go on with myself if I lost what we have. But I know now that because I did that I only did just that. I have put you to the point that if I don't say yes that you would lose your hope in me. And faith and hope is so important to have. To keep your dreams open and alive..." Keira wiped her eyes and nodded softly as she slid down to the ground in front of him and kissed him passionately. "It would be MY honor to finally be your wife. No more running."

Braxton was enjoying his time with Keira because it had been so long since it had been just the two of them.  He loved the hand in hand walking and vowed that they would have to do more than this.  He was nervous the whole time because he knew what he was going to do, but he was trying to hide it, so it took him a minute to realize that she had batted the seat next to her.  “Yes you are a very complex book, and sometimes I still have trouble reading the last chapter.”  He said with a laugh, “So I suppose the only one you should be with is me then.”
 
Braxton really was not surprised when Keira said there was never anyone but him because it had been the same way with him.  He loved Keira and would only want her until the day he died.  “Yes, dear I know how much you love me; I have always known which is why I brought you out here.”
 
Even though Braxton was nervous he was able to get through the proposal.  At first when she told him she was sorry and her reasons he thought that she was going to tell him no one more time and he was not sure if his heart could take it again.  But when she said yes to him he could not help but stand up put her in his arms and twirl her around a few times kissing her very deeply.  Once he released the kiss he placed his hands on each side of her face and smiled, “You have made me a very happy man.”  The he could not help but life, “Wendy will be very happy because she is sick of me practicing on her.”
 

Braxton could not help but wrap his arms around her and smiled, “Then I have a engagement present for you.”  Braxton apparated them to the cabin he had bought in the hopes that when she came back to teach she would move in with him.  He had been living in a room above the bar but when he found this place he knew it was for her, if not for anything else but the huge library that was in it and he filled with all sorts of books he knew she would like.  Almost hoping it was a selling point.  But first he wanted her thoughts on the cabin in the woods.  “What do you think?”

Keira hadn't had this good of quality time with Braxton and she had no one else to blame but herself. Keira squeezed her hand tightly against Braxton's and let her thumb brush against his outer palm. Keira had a high intuition sense and could tell that Braxton was nervous or on edge. "Are you alright sweetheart?" She asked with a sense of worry and concern as he sat down next to her. "Yes the most complex encyclopedia on the shelf, so it would be appropriate that you couldn't read the last chapter since encyclopedias don't have chapters."

Keira nudged Braxton with her shoulder and smirked "Did you think there would be someone else? Of course you're the only person I am supposed to be with Braxton. We have known each other for what seems like all of our lives. You had me from the second we met, you just haven't gotten me to work through my big head." Keira smiled and tilted her head when he said this was all the reasons why he brought her out here. Was because of their love for one another. Hearing him propose was so intense, here they were joking about it and now they were actually engaged.

Keira giggled and smiled as she was twirled and spun in the blink of an eye. She hopped up in his arms as they shared a passionate kiss. Once he pulled back she slid down back to her feet and grinned "As you have always made me a happy woman." Keira laughed her cute infectious laugh when she heard him say that even Wendy would be happy since he had been practicing the proposal lines on her. "Ah so that is why she kept giving me that look."

Keira sunk into his arms and blinked suddenly "An engagement present? Really?" Keira was then apparated to a cabin in the woods near Hogsmeade. She stood there in awe of its beauty. She had known he lived at the Three Broomsticks but this was so much better, it had room for the two of them. For a family. Keira walked into the cabin and couldn't believe how gorgeous it was. "Oh Braxton! This place is amazing!" She walked around from the kitchen to the living room and froze solid at the next room she saw. "Oh my god!"

A huge library even too big for her. "Braxton I-I uh is it oh my gosh." She hurried over to a shelf and pulled out a first edition of Muggle Items and Artifacts. And then a copy of Shakespeare. "Muggle and Wizarding books! You went all out for this library. I don't know what to say." Keira went in and kissed him passionately "Know for your present." She waved her wand and constructed a ring made of rose gold, also etched with runes. She slipped the band on him and grinned. "You know I want to read all these books but I also want to give you something. Something we have both wanted."

Braxton had been so unsure on how to answer Keira when she asked if he was alright.  He knew that he was really nervous, but of course he was because every time he asked her to commit to their relationship she said no, but then he had told her no too.  “I am not talking about that kind of book you silly woman, I am talking about our book.”
 
When she nudged him he could not help but nudge her back.  It was just another one of those things he loved about her.  She was always so playful and he knew that their children would always be wonderful mix of the two of them and he hoped they all had her personality.  “I hope I continue to make you happy, although I know that if I don’t you will just kick my ass.”
 

When Keira looked thru the house he had hoped she would enjoy it, especially when he picked it with her in mind.  He was having trouble keeping up with her while she made her way thru the house looking at all of the rooms.  He had lost her for a moment until he heard her yell.  Then he could not help but smile knowing she had found the library.  “I figured this would be your favorite room in the whole house, and I figure that our kids will love it too.”  He smiled and placed his arms around her and when she gave him the ring he could not help but kiss it, “So are you going to tell me what the runes mean or are you going to are you going to make me look through these books?”

Braxton looked at her a little weird when she said that she wanted to give him something, "You have given me everything I could possibly want, what else could you give me?"  Braxton said then kissed her.

Keira tilted her head once she didn't get an answer out of him if he was alright. She knew that something had to be bothering him but decided to leave it alone when he said he was talking about their book. "Oh the never ending story gotcha. I mean I hope it never ends." Keira grinned widely when she felt a nudge back, one of the better things to life being with someone that fully understands you.

Keira gave the infectious giggle as Braxton said that he hoped that he could keep her happy even though she would just kick his ass if he didn't. "Oh please I could never kick your ass. I mean its a nice and tight ass. Very nice to look at too." Keira smiled as the random thought of children ran through her mind as she looked through the house. She eagerly ran through the house until she reached the library. "Oh Braxton its immaculate! So many books everywhere." Keira giggled once again and couldn't help but put her in thought expression upon her face. "Hmm I think I should make you look it up since your so rusty with runes."

Keira wrapped her fingers around his and laughed "Its actually quite funny. Besides my normal protection charms the runes read out 'You finally got me'." Keira smirked widely as she was told that she had already gave him everything that he wanted in life. "Oh everything now? What I'm pregnant and barefoot in the kitchen already? Wow that was quick. You must be that potent, just touching me and bam!"

Keira said with a loud laugh before she was kissed and couldn't help but jump up in his arms, wrapping her own around his neck and passionately kissing the love of her life. Keira pulled back panting and couldn't help but smile down at Braxty. This was going to be the first day of the rest of her life. Every day waking up next to the one person she connected with the most.

And just then Midnight, the blazing pink dragon flew in with a letter in her mouth. It was Maximus' handwriting. She looked at Braxton before going over and reading the letter. "He sends his congratulations for us both, looking forward to seeing me in a beautiful wedding dress on our big day. And of course. PS, about time you two." She said with a cute eye roll. Keira walked over and grabbed Braxton's hand before leading him to the couch they walked by before and curled up next to him.

Braxton could not help but smile and nudge Keira once again, “Well until you get sick of me, I believe that our book will be never-ending.”  Braxton then smirked, “But then you have put up with me this long so I imagine that you will put up with me forever.”
 
Braxton could not help but follow Keira around their house and enjoying the look on her face she was looking at everything.  He could not help but smile as he thought about what she could possibly be feeling.  Braxton was so glad that she had finally agreed to be his wife and he was enjoying having her in the house that he worked hard to obtain and maintain for her.  “Well I am glad you like my ass, and too be honest most of your favorite books are towards the bottom because I happen to watch your ass too.”  Braxton said as he smacked her ass as she bent over to look at a book.
 
Braxton placed his arms around Keira’s waist and pulled her close to him and nibbled on her neck, teasing her in ways he had always wanted.  “Oh come on, I thought you loved me.”  He said as he kissed her neck again.  “What will I ever need runes reading for?”  Braxton sighed and then got on his knees holding her hands, “Please my beautiful goddess, will you tell me.”  Braxton said as he looked up at her giving her his famous smile.  Braxton then sighed a little when he realized that she was going to tell him anyway, even without his begging.  “Yes and it’s about time too.”  Braxton said and kissed her.
 
Braxton was happy for the ring and gladly placed it on his ring finger to show he was with someone.  He knew he wasn’t married to her yet, but he was going to act like it anyway.  Braxton picked Keira up and carried her towards the couch, “Last time I checked you weren’t pregnant, unless there is something you are not telling me.”  He laughed, “But no one says we can’t practice.”
 

He had sat her on the couch when they received an owl from her brother, “I suppose Wendy sent him a message.  How else would he have known?  Unless he is following you?”  Braxton laughed a little then snuggled up with her on the couch and kissed her temple, “I love you so much.”

Keira laughed as she was told that the story of their lives would be never ending until the day she gets sick and tired of him. Keira giggled and couldn't help but roll her eyes “Yes my love I highly doubt with someone with my patience level could ever get tired or annoyed with someone as sexy as you my love. “ Keira watched as Braxton followed her around the house expecting her looks and reactions. Why wouldn't he it was the perfect house for the two of them. It was perfect down to the t. The feelings of it all was overwhelming .

She couldn't be happier,  it couldn't be described any other way but simply perfection. “Oh really now is that so? “ She teased out as she felt a light smack on her ass as she bent over to look at some of her books. “So there was a hidden motive in putting my favorite books on the bottom shelf you naughty little man you. “ Keira submitted to his pull and moaned sightly as he nibbled on her neck knowing what it did to her. “Mhm don’t I will get all hot and bothered. “  

She giggled as she was asked what would he ever need rune reading for. “ Well if you want to be with me you are going to have to catch on at some point and time. “  It wasn't until he got on his knees in front of her and begged her to tell him what the runes meant. Of course she planned on telling him to begin with it was just entertaining to see him beg. “ Better late than ever my love some things in life are best to wait for. “  Keira smiled brightly as she watched him put on the ring she had just made for him.

Keira giggled the entire trip to the couch and as he then said he wasn't aware of her being pregnant not unless she didn't tell him something. “ Oh yeah I am virgin mary, you knocked me up just by touching me. Nope I am only joking but yes we can practice all we like. “ Keira smiled as she read the owl from her brother and couldn't help but agree with Braxton “ Yes Wendy probably couldn't wait to tell Maximus. Because of the fact they both have been waiting as long as we have to finally get together. “

Keira shook her head when he said that Maximus was following them “I doubt he would have the time but he probably does when he is out chasing the evil of our world. He has always been a tad creepy when it comes to me, but then again so am I. “  Keira snuggled up to Braxton and kissed him back “I love you too more than you could ever imagine. I am so happy you finally got me to say yes. “  Keira straddled his lap and rested her head against his shoulder also wrapping her arms around him. “ Now my love what would you like to do now? “
