It was a week until school started, and Edgar's parents had agreed to let him walk around Diagon Alley once they finished collecting his school supplies for his first year. Edgar was definitely worried about starting Durmstrang for different reasons a regular first year would be worried, but now he was excited on being on his own to think about school. Right now he wasn't the next name of the Evensens but a simple ordinary kid. He didn't have to think twice about where he should go first before taking off towards the ice cream parlor, his coins jingling happily in his pocket. This August day was oddly warmer than other days and his parched mouth demanded that he had something sweet.
He walked into the parlor and smiled, "A cherry vanilla for me, thank you." He dug into his pockets, counting out the correct amount of coins before exchanging it for the ice cream, delighted. He sat at an empty table near the window and ate slowly, not wanting to leave the parlor and end his exploration around Diagon Alley so soon.
